Summer 2011 Activities

Our Spring session is over and we’re in the process of planning our schedule for the academic year 2011 – 2012. In the meantime, we’re planning some summer activities, all of which will be posted here. Check back often for additions and/or changes, and feel free to contact us with your suggestions at: committee@mhcct.org.

Mural on Broad Street

Update as of 6/23/2011:

The old parkade on Broad Street in Manchester is slated for demolition sometime this year, to allow this very blighted area to be redeveloped.  Murals for Peace is a project designed to cover the outside of the old parkade with beautiful images of peace, hope, love, joy, etc… in order to improve the look and feel of the area until the building is taken down.  Check out this link for more information. This project was originally only planned for the weekend of 6/18 and 6/19, but was so well received that it is most likely going to be extended throughout the summer.  However, the town is currently working out the details of how to manage this extension, therefore, we are not going to be meeting at the Parkade this coming Monday, 6/27. We are still hoping to be able to participate in this project at some point this summer. Stay tuned for details! 🙂

Summer Letterboxing

The MHC Letterboxing Club is sponsoring some informal letterboxing throughout the summer.  You don’t need to be a member of the club to participate in these excursions. Throughout the summer we will post information about various letterboxes designed to coordinate with the park for that week.  You can either tackle the letterboxes on your own, or if you’d like to letterbox with friends, plan to meet at the site at 10am.  Check back here often for the latest letterbox information.
